How to use After18
Everything you need to know — from creating your first post to connecting with people across Relationships, Confessions, Trends, and more.
No app to download — After18 works entirely in the browser on any device.

Step 01
Create Your Account
Sign up for free
Go to After18 and tap Sign up. Enter your name, email address, and a strong password. No credit card required — posting is completely free.
Verify your email
Check your inbox for a verification link from hello@after18.org. Click it within 5 minutes to activate your account. Check your spam folder if you don't see it.
Set up your profile
Add a profile photo, write a short bio, and choose a unique username — your public profile will be at after18.org/@username. You can update everything anytime from Settings.
Tip: Your account is ready immediately after email verification — start exploring and posting right away.
Step 02
Create a Community Post
Open My Posts
Tap Posts in the sidebar, then click New Post. You'll be taken to the post creation form.
Choose a category
Select from 18 categories — Social, Lifestyle, Relationships, Dating, Community, Entertainment, Confessions, Discussions, and more. Choose the one that best describes your post.
Add a title and description
Write a clear, descriptive title (max 100 characters) and an optional description with details. The more specific you are, the more useful your post will be to your community.
Upload an image (optional)
A photo dramatically increases engagement. Tap the image area to upload one — a selfie, a screenshot, or any image relevant to your post.
Publish
Tap Submit. Your post goes into review and becomes publicly visible once approved by our team (usually within a few hours).
Tip: Be authentic — the community responds best to real, honest posts. You can delete your post at any time from My Posts.
Step 03
Explore & Discover Posts
Browse the home feed
The home feed shows the latest community posts. Use the category chips at the top to filter by Social, Lifestyle, Trending, and more. Toggle between card view and grid view using the icons at the top right.
Use the Explore page
Tap Explore in the sidebar to search all posts. Use the search bar to find posts by keyword, or use the category filter to browse a specific topic.
Filter by category
Use the category chips on the Explore page to narrow results to a specific type — Social, Health, Relationships, Discussions, and more.
Tip: Explore works without an account — share a filtered URL like /explore?category=Social to send someone directly to a category.
Step 04
Like, Share & Message
React to posts
Tap the heart icon on any post to like it. Likes help surface important content to more people in the community.
Share a post
Tap the share icon to copy the post link or use your device's native share sheet. Share directly to WhatsApp, SMS, or any other app to spread the word quickly.
Message the poster
On a post detail page, tap Message to start a private conversation with the person who created the post. Great for connecting one-on-one after a post resonates with you.
Tip: Sharing posts you love to WhatsApp or other apps helps bring more people into the conversation.
Step 05
Bookmarks & Following
Save posts for later
Tap the bookmark icon on any post to save it. Access all your saved posts from Bookmarks in the sidebar — great for keeping content you want to revisit.
Follow other users
Visit any user's profile and tap Follow. You'll see their new posts prioritised in your feed. Follow people whose stories, opinions, or confessions you enjoy.
Your profile page
Your public profile at after18.org/@username shows all your active posts. Visitors can follow you, message you, or browse your post history.
Tip: Follow people who post in categories you love — Confessions, Relationships, Memes — to keep your feed fresh and personal.
Step 06
Your Profile
Edit your profile
Go to your profile and tap Edit Profile to update your name, bio, profile photo, cover photo, location, and website link. Changes are instant.
Manage your posts
Open My Posts from the sidebar to see all your posts — both active and posts currently in review. Delete any post you no longer want visible.
Account settings
In Settings you can change your password, update notification preferences, manage your email, and deactivate your account if needed.
Tip: A complete profile with a clear photo builds trust — community members are more likely to engage with named, verified-looking accounts.
Step 07
Notifications
What triggers a notification
You get notified when someone likes your post, follows you, or starts a private conversation with you.
View notifications
Tap the notification bell in the sidebar or mobile nav to see all recent activity. Unread notifications show a badge count.
Manage notification settings
Go to Settings → Notifications to choose which events send you alerts. You can turn off specific types without affecting others.
Tip: Enable browser notifications to get real-time alerts even when you're not actively on the site.
